VPS price index: live market data and methodology
This index describes the plans currently present in the ALL VPS catalogue. It publishes sample size and resource ranges alongside prices so a single headline number cannot hide what is being measured.
What the sample contains now
Values are recalculated from active catalogue records. They exclude possible tax, conversion fees, paid IPv4, control panels and backups.
How the index is calculated
- The server follows every page of the public catalogue API, not only the first visible cards.
- Only active plans with positive monthly price, RAM, storage and vCPU values are included.
- A provider may contribute multiple configurations, so plan and provider counts are reported separately.
- Monthly RUB prices are read from stored catalogue data; the page does not invent a live exchange rate.
- The minimum is the cheapest valid plan and the median is the middle value of the ordered sample.
The snapshot is cached for 15 minutes. If the source fails or the quality threshold is not met, the page does not present stale figures as current.
Why the median matters
The VPS market contains tiny VPN instances and large database servers. A few expensive plans can distort the arithmetic mean. The median describes the centre of the available sample more robustly, but it still does not tell you whether a plan fits a workload.

Limitations
- Published specifications are not independent benchmarks.
- Introductory and renewal prices may differ.
- IPv4, tax, panel licences, backups and conversion may cost extra.
- Several plans from one company remain one provider.
- Unavailable plans disappear after a successful catalogue refresh.
The index is not a provider-quality ranking. Filter by required resources, compare eligible plans and confirm the final checkout price with the provider.
